RELEVANT EXPERIENCE OR REQUIREMENTS:

Under direction, plans, initiates, organizes and supervises an extensive program of recreation actives in the specialty area for the entire community.

Coordinating job rotation and cross training, ensuring that all staff are properly trained for their specific roles.

Seeks and adapts new experiences in the activity for use in the recreation program.

Develop on-going training and learning opportunities for shift personnel.

Studies community needs as they relate to the special activity and recommends appropriate action.

Responsible for supervising daily shift activities and workflow.

Investigates, recommends, demonstrates and explains techniques, procedures, materials, equipment and supplies for use in the special activity program.

Maintain integrity and discretion handling confidential information.

Establish and maintain a good working relationship with Tribal personnel.

Perform additional tasks or complete special projects as may be directed.
EDUCATION LEVEL:
High School Diploma or equivalent required; College is a plus. A minimum of three (3) years’ work experience as a Supervisor or Shift leader. Equivalent combination of experience and education that will allow the applicant to satisfactorily perform the duties of the job may be considered. Experience in a Recreation environment preferred.
GENERAL SUMMARY:
This position is under the general direction of the Barona Recreation Liaison and reports directly to the Recreation Manager. The position is responsible for supervising the Recreation staff, coordinating of department activities, and providing training, assistance, and leadership to Recreation staff. He/she exercises responsible professional judgment and technical skills in the specialty, reporting to and receiving general policy and departmental philosophy guidance from the Director. special activities which may require a supervisor include, but are not limited to: art and crafts, dance, physical fitness, drama, older adults programs, athletics, summer play program, music, pre-school program, day camping and nature. This position is responsible for the productivity and accountability of his/her shift. The Recreation Supervisor is responsible for supervising the day-to-day shift operations, while building a strong line of communication with the Recreation Director.

Able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, including being able to type and write legibly while effectively communicating through phones and two-way radios, and actively monitoring cameras and surveillance related equipment.

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and in a team environment.

Able to read small characters on computer/video monitors in dimly lit conditions.

Working knowledge of surveillance equipment and controls.

Good verbal and written communication skills.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Word and Excel.

Advanced knowledge of slot machines, casino card games, including but not limited to, blackjack, craps, roulette, casino war, baccarat and poker style games preferred.

Loss prevention experience desired. Math and analytical skills is a plus.

This position is under the general direction of the Barona Gaming Commission and reports directly to the Surveillance Supervisor. The position assures operational and departmental compliance to all relevant Minimum Internal Control Standards and requires the operation of surveillance equipment for the purpose of safeguarding the assets of the Barona Tribe, and for the safety and protection of guests and staff.

GENERAL SUMMARY:
The goal of the Barona Tribal Enforcement Unit is to provide a safe and secure quality of life to the members of the Barona Band of Mission Indians and their guests. We provide patrol services to all Tribal Lands except for the Casino, Golf Course, and Casino Parking Lots. BTE utilizes a combination of vehicle patrol and other means of patrol in order to make ourselves highly visible on the reservation.
