HEAD LIFEGUARD

 

DEPARTMENT:  
Recreation

LOCATION:  

Rec Center

 

SALARY/WAGE
$18.00/hr

STATUS:  
 Hourly-Exempt

HOURS:  

30 Hours per week - Seasonal Position

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE OR REQUIREMENTS:

  • First aid and CPR certificates

  • Red Cross or YMCA lifeguard certification

  • Management experience

EDUCATION LEVEL:

  • HS Diploma or equivalent

GENERAL SUMMARY:  Must be age 21 or over, have at least 5 years’ experience as a lifeguard or aquatics instructor.  Will supervise and implement swim programs that included swimming lessons and well supervised free swim.  Responsible for staff scheduling, and training staff aquatics.  Will report directly to the Recreation Director.

LIFEGUARD II

$16.00/hr

STATUS:  
Non-Exempt

HOURS:  

30 Hours per week - Seasonal Position

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE OR REQUIREMENTS:

  • Lifeguard certification required

  • First Aid-Water Safety Red Cross or YMCA lifeguard certification

  • Minimum of two years of lifeguard experience required

  • Ability to problem-solve and provide leadership to a team of six lifeguards's in the Head lifeguard's absence

  • Previous supervisory experience preferred

  • Weekend and Holiday shifts required

EDUCATION LEVEL:

  • HS Diploma or equivalent

GENERAL SUMMARY:  Must be age 21 or over, training will be provided.  Assists in maintaining pool for safe swimming, maintains and records chemical readings, and temperature. Performs all other duties as assigned. (We will be holding certification/re-certification classes).

GRANT WRITER

HOURS:  

32 Hours per week

 

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE OR REQUIREMENTS:

  • Excellent writing skills necessary to prepare grant applications

  • Knowledge of government and private funding sources and practices.

  • 2+ years management experience

  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.

  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with others in a professional and courteous manner

  • Must have the ability to understand quasi-legal federal instructions and guidelines

  • Flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities.

  • Proficient with Microsoft products

  • Must be highly confidential
     

EDUCATION LEVEL:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 2-5 years’ research and writing experience; minimum of one year grant writing experience at a professional level
     

GENERAL SUMMARY:  Provides support to the Tribal Council by identifying appropriate grants and other funding opportunities. Responsible for researching grants, writing grants, and the compilation and submission of funding proposals and grant applications as approved by the Tribal Council. Responsible for monitoring compliance and reporting requirements, and identifying opportunities for enhancing long range funding prospects.

RECREATION LEADER

 

DEPARTMENT:

Barona Recreation Center

SALARY/WAGE
Depends on Experience

STATUS:  
Non-Exempt

HOURS:  

Varies/Part Time, 24 hours per week mostly during after school, some nights and weekends required.

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE OR REQUIREMENTS:

  • CA Driver’s License

  • CPR First Aid

  • Able to work with children

  • Knowledge in common sports, games and recreational activities for all ages

  • Able to direct and lead programs

  • Effective communication skills
     

EDUCATION LEVEL:

  • HS Diploma or equivalent.
     

GENERAL SUMMARY:  Seeking a hard-working, hard-playing, enthusiastic, patient individual with strong values and leadership skills. Must be knowledgeable in crafts, games and sports; needs to work effectively with children and adults while creating a positive and fun atmosphere with an emphasis on customer service.

TRIBAL ENFORCEMENT OFFICER

SALARY/WAGE
Depends on Experience

STATUS:  
Non-Exempt

HOURS:  

Varies - Must be able to work flexible hours; mostly graveyard and swing shifts, and EVERY WEEKEND.

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE OR REQUIREMENTS:

  • Two (2) years of prior Law Enforcement, Military, or Security experience.

  • Valid CA driver’s license, verified by DMV H-6 printout

  • Current CA Guard Card

  • Fluently speak, write and understand English.

  • Basic knowledge of computer and hand held devices

  • Personal transportation and current insurance.

  • Comply and support a Drug Free Work Place Policy.

  • Must be at least 21 years old

  • No felony or misdemeanor arrests or convictions.

  • Ability to make sound professional decisions.

  • Ability to thoroughly document and investigate incidents.To be considered for the position; DMV H-6 printout, California Guard Card, Baton Card, and OC Spray must be current and available at time of interview.
     

EDUCATION LEVEL:

  • High School Diploma or GED is required, College education is preferred.
     

GENERAL SUMMARY:  The goal of the Barona Tribal Enforcement Unit is to provide a safe and secure quality of life to the members of the Barona Band of Mission Indians and their guests. We provide patrol services to all Tribal Lands except for the Casino, Golf Course, and Casino Parking Lots. BTE utilizes a combination of vehicle patrol and other means of patrol in order to make ourselves highly visible on the reservation.
