PROJECT COORDINATOR

 

DEPARTMENT:  
Planning and Development

LOCATION:  
Barona Government Building

SALARY/WAGE
Depends on Experience

STATUS:  
Non-Exempt

HOURS:  

Monday through Friday, 8am to 4pm.

 

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE OR REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Applications such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

  • Familiar with book-keeping software, basic accounting and job cost accounting/reporting.

  • Knowledge of construction techniques, scheduling, request for proposals, contracts administration and project management.

  • Plan, organize, budget, forecast and prioritize multiple assignments and projects.

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.

  • Professional customer service skills.

  • Must interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
     

EDUCATION LEVEL:

  • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) is desired, but not required.

  • At least 3 years’ experience as a Project Coordinator/Project Assistant; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
     

GENERAL SUMMARY:  This position works very closely with the Director of Planning & Development, Facilities Manager, Housing/Contracts Manager in support of all Tribal projects and programs.

INTERNAL AUDITOR ASSISTANT

 

DEPARTMENT:  
Barona Gaming Commission- Internal Audit

STATUS:  
Non-Exempt

HOURS:  

Part Time, Monday through Friday, 10am to 2pm

 

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE OR REQUIREMENTS:

  • A minimum of 1-2 years’ work experience in Gaming Industry or related field; or Knowledge of internal control and fraud detection; or 1-2 years work experience in Public Accounting firm, Internal Audit Department, Financial Accounting industry, or Compliance Audit.

  • Perform or assist in the planning and execution of compliance, operational, financial audits and special projects.

  • Examine and evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of the internal control systems at the tribal gaming operation.

  • Evaluate the adherence to legal and regulatory requirements.

  • Periodic review of the casino’s Minimum Internal Control Standards (BGC MICS) and Policies and Procedures (BRC P&Ps) at various operations and activities to ensure that they are in compliance with the MICS adopted by Barona Gaming Commission.

  • Evaluate the effectiveness of existing P&Ps through various audit procedures and provide recommendations for improvements to the Director of Internal Audit.

  • Review proposed changes in BGC MICS, BRC P&Ps, and Table Games Gaming Manuals before submitting to the Executive Director. Research, perform special engagements, and investigate as assigned.

  • Maintain sufficient knowledge, skills, expertise, and competencies to meet the requirements of assigned audits.
     

EDUCATION LEVEL:

  • A minimum of two (2) years’ work experience in accounting, auditing or in the gaming industry.
     

GENERAL SUMMARY:  This position is under the general direction of the Barona Gaming Commission and reports directly to the Director of Internal Audit.   This position is responsible for conducting audit work, including Minimum Internal Controls (MICS) compliance audits, operational audits, financial audits, and special projects assigned by the Director of Internal Audit.

RECREATION LEADER

HOURS:  

Varies/Part Time, 24 hours per week mostly during after school, some nights and weekends required.

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE OR REQUIREMENTS:

  • CA Driver’s License

  • CPR First Aid

  • Able to work with children

  • Knowledge in common sports, games and recreational activities for all ages

  • Able to direct and lead programs

  • Effective communication skills
     

EDUCATION LEVEL:

  • HS Diploma or equivalent.
     

GENERAL SUMMARY:  Seeking a hard-working, hard-playing, enthusiastic, patient individual with strong values and leadership skills. Must be knowledgeable in crafts, games and sports; needs to work effectively with children and adults while creating a positive and fun atmosphere with an emphasis on customer service.

TRIBAL ENFORCEMENT OFFICER

Depends on Experience

STATUS:  
Non-Exempt

HOURS:  

Varies - Must be able to work flexible hours; mostly graveyard and swing shifts, and EVERY WEEKEND.

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE OR REQUIREMENTS:

  • Two (2) years of prior Law Enforcement, Military, or Security experience.

  • Valid CA driver’s license, verified by DMV H-6 printout

  • Current CA Guard Card

  • Fluently speak, write and understand English.

  • Basic knowledge of computer and hand held devices

  • Personal transportation and current insurance.

  • Comply and support a Drug Free Work Place Policy.

  • Must be at least 21 years old

  • No felony or misdemeanor arrests or convictions.

  • Ability to make sound professional decisions.

  • Ability to thoroughly document and investigate incidents.To be considered for the position; DMV H-6 printout, California Guard Card, Baton Card, and OC Spray must be current and available at time of interview.
     

EDUCATION LEVEL:

  • High School Diploma or GED is required, College education is preferred.
     

GENERAL SUMMARY:  The goal of the Barona Tribal Enforcement Unit is to provide a safe and secure quality of life to the members of the Barona Band of Mission Indians and their guests. We provide patrol services to all Tribal Lands except for the Casino, Golf Course, and Casino Parking Lots. BTE utilizes a combination of vehicle patrol and other means of patrol in order to make ourselves highly visible on the reservation.

DISPATCHER

HOURS:  

24 Hours a week, shift varies (Day and Swing shifts)

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE OR REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be at least 21 years old.

  • Work flexible hours.

  • Prior Law Enforcement, Military, or Security experience preferred. 

  • Previous Experience as a dispatcher is also desired. ​

  • Preferred knowledge of PL280 or experience with Tribal Governments.

  • Ability to assess situations quickly and document incidents thoroughly.

  • Knowledge and strong familiarity of computer/software skills and hand held devices.

  • Multi-task between phone and radio traffic.

  • Monitor video surveillance.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

  • Strong administrative skills.
     

EDUCATION LEVEL:

  • High School Diploma or GED is required, College education is preferred.
     

GENERAL SUMMARY:  Under the direction of the Sergeants/Department head, dispatchers are a point of contact via phone, radio, and person, providing assistance and/or direction to those needing help or information. Disseminates information between Tribal Enforcement and other agencies (Sheriff, CHP, and Fire Dept.) during crisis situations.  The Barona Tribal Enforcement Unit provides patrol services to all Tribal lands except for the Casino, Golf Course, and Casino Parking Lots.
