RELEVANT EXPERIENCE OR REQUIREMENTS:

  • Performs general cleaning of facilities, grounds and process area equipment including piping, basins and tanks, observes safe work methods and safety precautions related to the work.   

  • Receives bulk delivery or chlorine and other products. 

  • Provides assistance as needed for operation or maintenance activities.   

  • Uses common hand and power tools and drives motorized vehicles and equipment in the performance of the work. 

  • Coordinate and assist with the successful completion of preventative and corrective maintenance projects on all system throughout the potable water supply system, troubleshoots problem areas utilizing appropriate resources, inspects tests and maintains safety equipment. 

  • Troubleshoots, identifies and repairs leaks within the chlorine injection system process area equipment; performs chlorines pump and injector cleanings. 

  • Maintains chemical feed systems, calibrates pumps, performs repairs to system piping and related equipment, and maintains on-site chlorine generation equipment.   

  • Ensures that all areas are clean, neat, safe and free from debris not associated with the potable water supply system, including security for all potable water supply systems. 

  • Operates, monitors and controls systems via SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) to include and related system equipment; coordinates shutdowns; startups and flow changes with appropriate authorities. 

  • Optimizes potable water supply system’s processes to ensue regulatory compliance and water quality objectives are maintained at all times. 

  • Preforms daily process controls analyses, including Chlorine.   

  • Collect Daily, Monthly Quarterly and Annual Samples.

EDUCATION LEVEL:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent. 

  • Must have a current/valid CA D1 Certification. 

  • T1 Certification preferred but not required. 

  • Plumbing experience is highly desirable. 

  • Familiar with Excel, Microsoft Office, Outlook, and PDF knowledge.

GENERAL SUMMARY: Responsible for the operation and maintenance of the Barona Tribal Water Authority (BTWA) potable water supply system. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: general inspection and cleaning of the facilities, grounds, and process area equipment; coordinate and assist in completion of preventative and corrective maintenance projects on all systems throughout the potable water supply system; troubleshoots and repairs leaks within the chlorine injections system; maintains chemical feed systems; operates and controls systems via SCADA (Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition); ensures regulatory compliance and water quality objectives are maintained at all times; collection of daily, monthly, quarterly and annual samples; record keeping functions; plans and coordinates support from BTWA/Consultants Staff, as well as Contractors for maintenance and repair activities as needed.

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE OR REQUIREMENTS:

  • Class C California Driver’s License 

  • CA EMT-P Certificate & SD County Accreditation at time of hire. 

  • ACLS certification at time of hire

  • CPAT, Fire Department experience.

EDUCATION LEVEL:

  • HS Diploma or equivalent

  • Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilites is qualifying.   

  • A typical way to obtain the knowledge would be: Previous experience working as a Firefighter/Paramedic. Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade supplemented by specialized training in the Fire Sciences.

GENERAL SUMMARY: Under supervision, responds to fire alarms, medical emergencies, hazardous condition situations, public incidents, and other types of emergencies. Protects life and property endangered by fire and other emergencies; performs fire safety inspections, and performs related duties as required. Positions in this class are primarily responsible for the operations of a fire hose and related equipment when engaged in fire suppression and the administration of first aid when engaged in medical calls.

Dispatcher

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE OR REQUIREMENTS:

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

  • Knowledge and strong familiarity of computer/software skills and hand held devices.

  • Prior Law Enforcement, Military, or Security experience preferred. 

  • Previous Experience as a dispatcher desired. 

  • Work flexible hours.

  • Must be at least 21 years old. Ability assess situations quickly and document incidents thoroughly-Preferred knowledge of PL280 or experience with Tribal Governments. 

  • Multi-task between phone and radio traffic. 

  • Monitor video surveillance. 

  • Strong administrative skills.

EDUCATION LEVEL:

  • High School Diploma or GED. 

  • College education is preferred

GENERAL SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Sergeants/Department head, dispatchers are a point of contact via phone, radio, and person, providing assistance and/or direction to those needing help or information. Disseminates information between Tribal Enforcement and other agencies (Sheriff, CHP, and Fire Dept.) during a crisis situation.  The Barona Tribal Enforcement Unit provides patrol services to all Tribal lands except for the Casino, Golf Course, and Casino Parking Lots.

  • Greets visitors, answers phones, and determines importance and accessibility to specific individuals. 

  • Records, transcribes & posts the minutes of Tribal Council, and other meetings. 

  • Arranges amenities and accommodations for travel, business, and personal, preparing itineraries and trip files.  

  • Prepares, completes and submits expense reports and credit card statements for Councilmembers and other executives in the office. 

  • Maintains and reconciles petty cash box. 

  • Assists in General Services department yearly budget for specific areas to be determined by Director.

Planning & Development Director

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE OR REQUIREMENTS:

  • Contractor retired/current or Inspector retired/current.

  • Creates and revises work plans and estimates to the Barona Band of Mission Indians Tribal Council for approval.

  • Identifies resources needed to complete the work plan/scope of work based on the approved budget.

  • Performs a “make or buy” analysis.

  • Prepares and executes requests for proposals, manages bid process and prepares contracts.

  • Manages the day-to-day operational aspects of the projects, including engineering, quality control, schedule, costs, and overall performance.

  • Reviews project costs on a daily, weekly and monthly basis with Planning & Development personnel, and the Accounting Department.

  • Performs value-engineering analyses.

  • Reviews and approves all invoices from vendors, contractors, subcontractors, suppliers.

  • Performs the necessary execution of documents for the close out and proper completion of the projects.

  • Performs site inspections, surveys and direction to Contractors/Subcontractors.

  • Assembles formal Request for Proposal documents with appropriate specifications.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION LEVEL:

  • Knowledge of Project Management

  • Construction, Management Federal Contractor Requirements Commercial, Residential and Government Plans and Specifications.

  • 5 years’ experience. Any equivalent combination of experience and education that will allow the applicant to satisfactorily perform the duties of the job may be considered.

GENERAL SUMMARY: 

Working under the direction of the Tribal Council, the Director of Planning and Development position will oversee the Tribal Reservation only (excluding the Casino property). Will plan, organize, direct and integrate the Tribe’s planning programs and services including Capital Improvement Projects and Special Government Grants.
