Recreational Leader

DEPARTMENT:

HOURS:  

Varies/Part Time

24 hours per week mostly during after school, some nights and weekends required.

8-hour shifts available during school vacations.

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE OR REQUIREMENTS:

  • Able to work with children.

  • Understanding of common sports, games and recreational activities for all ages.

  • Effective communication skills.

  • Training in all areas of recreation provided.

 

EDUCATION LEVEL:

Museum Programs Coordinator

DEPARTMENT:

HOURS:  

Tuesday- Saturday

40 hours

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE OR REQUIREMENTS:

  • Develops partnerships with schools and other organizations to offer curriculum-based programs related to the Museum and Barona History.

  • Follows Barona’s professional standards in all education programming.

  • Performs a variety of administrative duties including planning, organizing, implementing educational programs for tribal members and public.

  • Coordinates and conduct tours and outreaches.

  • Contacts instructors, assist Director with Library and Culture classes for Barona Indian Charter School.

  • Coordinates Language program for community, work with community youth and other volunteers.

  • Assist with grant administration.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

EDUCATION LEVEL:

  • Bachelor’s degree in History or Museum Studies (preferred), 1-3 years of museum experience. 

  • Any equivalent combination of experience and education that will allow the applicant to satisfactorily perform the duties of the job may be considered when filling the position

 

GENERAL SUMMARY: 

: Under the direction of the Director/Curator, the position coordinates educational programs for the community and public, including field trips, tours, lectures, and other educational programs.

Seasonal Lifeguards

DEPARTMENT:

$18.50

Seasonal Position

30 hours/week

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE OR REQUIREMENTS:

  • Red Cross Lifeguard or Basic Water Rescue certification required.

  • Weekend and Holiday shifts required.

 

EDUCATION LEVEL:

Highschool diploma or equivalent preferred, not required.

(Active Highschool students may apply)

 

GENERAL SUMMARY: 

This is a seasonal position, training will be provided. Assists in maintaining pool for safe swimming, maintains and record chemical readings, and temperature. Performs all other duties as assigned. (We will be holding certification/re-certification classes).

Admin III

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE OR REQUIREMENTS:

  • This position will be reporting to the General Services Lead. 

  • Five plus years of high-level administrative assistant  experience/background required.

  • Responsible for planning meetings, writing and filing reports.

  • Must have excellent written, communication and organizational skills.

  • Strong multitasking skills, and attention to detail.

  • Knowledge of appointment scheduling, maintaining executive calendars, planning and scheduling meetings, conferences,  teleconferences, and travel.

  • Reconcile all credit card charges and petty cash. 

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and knows Publisher.

  • Minute taking experience is highly preferred but not required to apply.

 

EDUCATION LEVEL:

A High School Diploma or GED is required.

A College education is preferred.

 

GENERAL SUMMARY: 

Under the direction of the General Services Lead, this position is responsible for the organization and completion of clerical Admin III duties to the Tribal Council and occasionally may work with Government Affairs.

BTWA Laborer/Water Operator

DEPARTMENT:

Full Time,

Monday-Friday

7am-3pm.

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE OR REQUIREMENTS:

  • Laborer is responsible for all trash pickup, vegetation clearing and general maintenance and cleanliness of wells and tanks.

  • Assist the Director with maintenance items as needed. 

  • Ability to perform work in an effective and timely manner with minimal direction.

  • May hire directly to Operator with D2 and/or T2 Certs/experience.

  • Strong interest in Water, and desire to advance into the field.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Required: 2 years previous work experience in any labor capacity.

 

EDUCATION LEVEL:

High School diploma or GED is required.

2 years’ of previous experience with a laborious career field.

 

GENERAL SUMMARY: 

Under direct supervision and reporting to the Tribal Water Authority Director. Strong interest in Water Operations required. General laborer is responsible for performing general labor, landscaping duties such as weed whacking, Well and Tank site maintenance, waterlines installation and repair, trash pickup, filter change outs and other maintenance duties as needed.

Facilities Landscaper 

DEPARTMENT:

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE OR REQUIREMENTS:

  • Skillful and able to operate walk behind mower, line trimmer and blower for daily landscaping tasks.

  • Knowledgeable and able to use variety of tools, both hand and powered for daily facilities tasks.

  • Proven history of irrigation experience, concepts, components, maintenance, and repairs.

  • Responsible of installation of new plant material, replacement of old plant material, pruning trees, mowing and maintaining all other plant material as needed.

  • Installation and maintenance of non-vegetative items (fences, gutters, drains, concrete). Understands and complies with departmental policies and procedures.

  • Many of the job responsibilities will be conducted in exterior areas of the operation, such as edging and fertilizing lawns, weeding and trimming of hedges and shrubs.

  • Activities will be carried out in year-round weather conditions.

  • Clean and maintains all tools and equipment.

  • Work hours will fluctuate depending on projects, emergency situations, daily facilities and landscaping tasks.

  • Adhere to Facilities Department policies and procedures, prioritizing safe work practices and operational efficiency.

  • Maintain all facility gutters and drains year-round.

  • Assist the Facilities Department with any other assignments.

 

EDUCATION LEVEL:

High School diploma or GED required.

Minimum of 5 years’ experience as an experienced landscaper/laborer.

 

GENERAL SUMMARY: 

Under direct supervision of and reports to the Facilities Manager. Facilities Landscaper is responsible for performing skilled landscaping, with a strong understanding of outdoor irrigation and fertilization. Responsible for sprinkler systems, landscaping and grounds surroundings.

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE OR REQUIREMENTS:

  • 3 years retail & customer service experience.

  • knowledge of museum/non profit organizations.

  • Proficiency in front desk receptionist duties retail/merchandise/inventory.

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite & QuickBooks POS system.

EDUCATION LEVEL:

High School Diploma or GED required.

1-3 years of retail and customer service experience.

 

GENERAL SUMMARY: 

Under direction of the Director/Curator, this position is responsible for the operation of the public area of the Museum, the front desk and especially the Museum Store. Work closely with Director to purchase and consign inventory and merchandise the Museum Store. Manage ongoing relationships with vendors and artists.  Work collaboratively with leadership, staff, volunteers, and community members to ensure positive visitor experience.  Organize and complete routine clerical activities, front desk reception duties, and coordination of retail operations. This position interacts with Tribal Members, Barona staff, and the general public. Schedule flexibility required.
