Accounts Payable Specialist

 

DEPARTMENT:

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE OR REQUIREMENTS:

Follows established procedures, performs routine accounts payable functions; matches invoices to purchase orders and other documentation; and processes assigned invoices and corresponding purchase orders or payments.  Maintain and process information for 1099’s. Establishes and maintains files for accounts payable, purchase orders & contracts. Utilizing spreadsheet programs and computer database systems, enters, posts, verifies, handles and retrieves designated accounting and financial data, reports information, such as accounts payable and wire transfers; compiles, generates and distributes required reports.

Compiles and reviews data and information for managers; completes, reviews, and distributes routine reports, such as accounts payable aging reports. Provides accurate and timely information and assistance to customers; researches and handles issues or daily inquiries on matters related to areas of responsibility.

EDUCATION LEVEL:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required. Several years of high-volume A/P experience utilizing computerized systems.

  • 2-years of progressively responsible experience in performing financial or statistical recordkeeping; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Completion of coursework in bookkeeping or accounting is highly desirable.

GENERAL SUMMARY: Under general supervision, performs professional accounting support and administrative work in the preparation, processing and maintenance of accounting and financial records; and performs related duties as assigned.

Internal Audit Assistant Director

 

DEPARTMENT:

M-F 9AM-5PM (can vary occasionally)
 

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE OR REQUIREMENTS:

​Perform or assist in the planning and execution of compliance, operational, financial audits and special projects.

Examine and evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of the internal control systems at the tribal gaming operation and evaluate compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.

Periodic review of casino Policies and Procedures (BRC P&Ps) to ensure that they are in compliance with the Minimum Internal Control Standards adopted by the Barona Gaming Commission (BGC MICS).  

Evaluate the effectiveness of existing P&Ps through various audit procedures and provide recommendations for improvements to the Director of Internal Audit.

Review proposed changes to BGC MICS, BRC P&Ps, and Table Games Gaming Manuals to ensure compliance with the BGC MICS before submitting to the Executive Director. Research, perform special engagements, and investigate as assigned.

Maintain sufficient knowledge, skills, expertise, and competencies to meet the requirements of assigned audits. 

Must be proficient in Microsoft applications.

EDUCATION LEVEL:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration or related field, or equivalent work experience. 

  • A minimum of two (2) years’ work experience in accounting, or in the gaming industry is preferred.

GENERAL SUMMARY: This position is under the general direction of the Barona Gaming Commission and reports directly to the Director of Internal Audit. This position is responsible for conducting audit work, including Minimum Internal Controls (MICS) compliance audits, operational audits, financial audits, and special projects assigned by the Director of Internal Audit.

Tribal Enforcement Officer

Varies

Must be able to work flexible hours; mostly graveyard and swing shifts, and EVERY WEEKEND

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE OR REQUIREMENTS:

Two (2) years of prior Law Enforcement, Military, or Security experience.

Valid CA driver’s license, verified by DMV H-6 printout

Current CA Guard Card

Fluently speak, write and understand English.

Basic knowledge of computer and hand held devices

Personal transportation and current insurance.

Comply and support a Drug Free Work Place Policy.

Must be at least 21 years old

No felony or misdemeanor arrests or convictions.

Ability to make sound professional decisions.

Ability to thoroughly document and investigate incidents.To be considered for the position; DMV H-6 printout, California Guard Card, Baton Card, and OC Spray must be current and available at time of interview.

EDUCATION LEVEL:

  • High School Diploma or GED is required, College education is preferred.

GENERAL SUMMARY: The goal of the Barona Tribal Enforcement Unit is to provide a safe and secure quality of life to the members of the Barona Band of Mission Indians and their guests. We provide patrol services to all Tribal Lands except for the Casino, Golf Course, and Casino Parking Lots. BTE utilizes a combination of vehicle patrol and other means of patrol in order to make ourselves highly visible on the reservation.

24 hours per week mostly during after school, some nights and weekends required

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE OR REQUIREMENTS:

Able to work with children. Knowledge in common sports, games and recreational activities for all ages.

Able to direct and lead programs. Effective communication skills.

EDUCATION LEVEL:

  • HS Diploma or Equivalent

GENERAL SUMMARY: Seeking a hard-working, hard-playing, enthusiastic, patient individual with strong values and leadership skills. Must be knowledgeable in crafts, games and sports; needs to work effectively with children and adults while creating a positive and fun atmosphere with an emphasis on customer service.
