RELEVANT EXPERIENCE OR REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be detail-oriented.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Outlook and Office, including PowerPoint, Word and Excel.

  • Ability to understand the organization and operation of the Gaming Commission and outside agencies. 

  • Must have excellent communication skills, be diligent about follow-up and able to maintain a high degree of confidentiality.

  • Ability to deal with individuals or groups representing diverse backgrounds, interests and points of view.

  • Ability to present a professional demeanor and remain calm and composed during stressful situations.

EDUCATION LEVEL:

  • High School diploma or GED and three years of administrative experience. 

  • Organizational, computer and interpersonal skills are a must

GENERAL SUMMARY: This position performs clerical and secretarial duties and provides office support for the Gaming Commissioners, Executive Director, and other Department Directors.  The employee serves as the primary point of contact for expelled patrons. Duties include filing, scanning and managing paperwork, coordinating meetings, preparing reports, documenting expenses, arranging travel, and performing additional duties to support the Gaming Commission, as needed.

General Services Administrative Assistant

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE OR REQUIREMENTS:

  • May perform any or all duties of Receptionist or Administrative Assistant. Maintains Council Members calendars. 

  • Reads and analyzes incoming emails, memos, and submissions to determine their significance and plan their distribution. 

  • Greets visitors, answers phones, and determines importance and accessibility to specific individuals. 

  • Records, transcribes & posts the minutes of Tribal Council, and other meetings. 

  • Arranges amenities and accommodations for travel, business, and personal, preparing itineraries and trip files.  

  • Prepares, completes and submits expense reports and credit card statements for Councilmembers and other executives in the office. 

  • Maintains and reconciles petty cash box. 

  • Assists in General Services department yearly budget for specific areas to be determined by Director. 

  • Performs other duties as required.

EDUCATION LEVEL:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required, some college preferred.

  • 2-4 years of strong administrative skills is a plus. 

  • Proficient in Excel, Microsoft Office, Outlook and Publisher.

GENERAL SUMMARY: Under the general direction of the General Services Director. This position is responsible for the administrative and clerical support to the General Services Department and the Tribal Council. This position requires knowledge of professional business office procedures and use of computer applications and equipment.

Compliance Officer

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE OR REQUIREMENTS:

  • Familiarity with Tribal gaming preferred. 

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to produce concise reports. 

  • Knowledge of security and surveillance practices. 

  • Ability to take direction, follow instructions and work independently.

  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time in a smoking environment.

  • Knowledge of documentation and record keeping principles and practices. 

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a gaming license.

EDUCATION LEVEL:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required; some college preferred. 

  • Two years experience in government regulatory activities, gaming or a closely related field; or combination of education and experience

GENERAL SUMMARY: This position is under the general direction of the Barona Gaming Commission and reports directly to the Compliance Supervisor.  The position is responsible for the oversight of gaming activities in accordance with Tribal, Federal, and State regulations for the purpose of protecting the assets and interests of the Barona Band of Mission Indians and to insure the continued integrity of Tribal gaming.

Planning & Development Director

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE OR REQUIREMENTS:

  • Contractor retired/current or Inspector retired/current.

  • Creates and revises work plans and estimates to the Barona Band of Mission Indians Tribal Council for approval.

  • Identifies resources needed to complete the work plan/scope of work based on the approved budget.

  • Performs a “make or buy” analysis.

  • Prepares and executes requests for proposals, manages bid process and prepares contracts.

  • Manages the day-to-day operational aspects of the projects, including engineering, quality control, schedule, costs, and overall performance.

  • Reviews project costs on a daily, weekly and monthly basis with Planning & Development personnel, and the Accounting Department.

  • Performs value-engineering analyses.

  • Reviews and approves all invoices from vendors, contractors, subcontractors, suppliers.

  • Performs the necessary execution of documents for the close out and proper completion of the projects.

  • Performs site inspections, surveys and direction to Contractors/Subcontractors.

  • Assembles formal Request for Proposal documents with appropriate specifications.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION LEVEL:

  • Knowledge of Project Management

  • Construction, Management Federal Contractor Requirements Commercial, Residential and Government Plans and Specifications.

  • 5 years’ experience. Any equivalent combination of experience and education that will allow the applicant to satisfactorily perform the duties of the job may be considered.

GENERAL SUMMARY: 

Working under the direction of the Tribal Council, the Director of Planning and Development position will oversee the Tribal Reservation only (excluding the Casino property). Will plan, organize, direct and integrate the Tribe’s planning programs and services including Capital Improvement Projects and Special Government Grants.

  • Respond to incoming calls and interact with end users to solve problems.

  • General maintenance of the computer hardware and software.

  • Solving computer hardware and software related problems of the company.

  • Create troubleshooting documents.

  • Interact with the end users to address their computer/network problems.

  • Assign and manage trouble tickets for departments to effectively manage computer related issues.

EDUCATION LEVEL:

  • High School Diploma or GED.

  • Actively pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field with/or 2 or more years equivalent work experience.

GENERAL SUMMARY: 

A Help Desk technician’s job involves using computer applications for solving technical problems of end users and providing excellent service to them. It includes primarily answering phone calls, responding to emails and finding out specific software and hardware issues and issuing trouble tickets to the proper department.
