BARONA TRIBAL COUNCIL & GAMING COMMISSION

The Barona Band of Mission Indians is recognized by the United States Government as a sovereign government.

Tribal Council


Barona is governed by a General Council, which is comprised of approximately 240 voting members of the tribe. The General Council meets monthly. In addition, there is a Tribal Council comprised of seven elected tribal officials.

Gaming Commission


Another branch of the tribal government is the Barona Gaming Commission. It is comprised of appointed tribal members who cannot be employed by the tribe or the casino in any other aspect. The Gaming Commission is responsible for regulating casino activities as mandated by the 1988 Indian Gaming Regulatory Act, the Tribe's Gaming Ordinance, and the Tribal/State compact, including employee and vendor licensing.

Barona Cultural Center & Museum

Barona Recreation Center

Barona Fire Department

Barona Fire Protection District was established in 1998 to provide its own positive, professional, and dedicated fire service to the residents and patrons of the Barona Reservation. click here

Tribal Enforcement

The members of the Barona Tribal Enforcement Detail strive to provide the best possible security services to the Barona Tribal Community as well as to the visitors that come upon Tribal Lands. Their goal is to provide for a safe and secure quality of life to the members of the Barona Band of Mission Indians and their guests.   click here

Signatus Growth Enterprise Corp.

Signatus is wholly owned by the Barona Band of Mission Indians, and is chartered under Section 17 of the Indian Reorganization Act. The Corporation is operated by a seven-member Board of Directors, which is appointed by the Barona Tribal Council.
